Safeguarding & Risk Management

Safeguarding and Protection From Harm

Safeguarding is embedded in our culture, training, and daily practice. We maintain clear safeguarding procedures to protect people from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and avoidable harm. All staff receive mandatory safeguarding training and understand their personal duty to report concerns immediately.

Concerns are recorded, escalated, and referred to the appropriate authorities in line with local safeguarding pathways. We maintain full documentation and cooperate with external investigations where required.

Our Safeguarding Practice Includes

  • Mandatory safeguarding training for all staff

  • Clear reporting and escalation routes

  • Immediate protective action where required

  • Partnership with safeguarding authorities

  • Detailed recording and evidence retention

  • Management oversight and review

  • We promote an open reporting culture where staff and service users can raise concerns without fear of blame or retaliation.

Risk Assessment and Positive Risk Management

Risk is managed through structured assessment and proportionate controls, not unnecessary restriction. Each individual has a personalised risk assessment covering health, safety, environment, behaviour, and daily living activities.

Risk management plans are practical, specific, and regularly reviewed. We support positive risk-taking where appropriate, enabling independence while maintaining safeguards.

Risk processes include:

  • Pre-service risk assessments

  • Individual risk management plans

  • Dynamic risk review following incidents or change

  • Environmental and activity risk checks

  • Lone working controls

  • Management approval for high-risk activities
